Women's Sports Trust announce nominees for 2016 #BeAGameChanger Awards
The Women’s Sports Trust have announced the shortlist for its annual #BeAGameChanger Awards ceremony which is being held on 12 May.
The Women’s Sports Trust are an organisation dedicated to promoting a diverse range of role models, as well as increasing the percentage and quality of media coverage and finding ways to shift the funding landscape within women’s sport.
The shortlist for the awards, which seek to recognise those individuals and organisations who are doing the most to advance women’s sport, can be found on their website here.
An expert panel will select the finalists in each category on 5 April, before public voting for the winners opens on 18 April, with the winners announced in May.
The 11 awards on offer include Sporting Role Model, Ambassador of Women’s Sport, Inspiring Initiative, Journalist of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to Women’s Sport.
A number of individuals and organisations working within football have been nominated for awards, including Eniola Aluko for Sporting Role Model (individual), the entire England Women’s team for Sporting Role Model (team) and The Football Association for National Governing Body of the Year.
