‘Turn a negative into a positive’ – Paul Elliott kicks off Ford event
West Ham United defender James Tomkins, England and Arsenal ladies star Rachel Yankey and former Chelsea captain Paul Elliott are today (11 October) helping Ford Motors celebrate its contribution to the One Game, One Community weeks of action at its Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) in Rainham.
Over 100 local schoolchildren have been invited down to the facility in east London to hear key ambassadors talk about the work of Kick It Out and to take part in a series of activities incorporating sport, music, acting and engineering.
“We are all leaders of people,” said Kick It Out trustee Paul, kicking off the event in CEME’s state of the art ‘pod’ facility. “As pupils and football fans, we can all make a difference. The One Game, One Communityweeks of action is a perfect time to shed some of the negativity of the last 12 months. It’s important to turn a negative situation into a positive one.”
