Students to host Call Full Time On Hate youth tournament
Two students from Sir Frank Whittle Studio School in Leicester will host a football tournament which will raise funds for Kick It Out under the banner of the organisation’s ‘Call Full Time On Hate’ initiative.
Thomas Coupland and George Finn, both 16-year-old students at the school, have created the fund-raising competition after contacting Hayley Bennett, Kick It Out’s Education Officer.
Running throughout the 2016/17 season, ‘Call Full Time On Hate’ aims to highlight the positive messages of inclusion echoed by football authorities, clubs, players, managers and supporters across all levels of the game.
The tournament takes place on Saturday 22 April at North Kilworth Sports Club, and Thomas hopes the event can help improve social cohesion in his local area.
“Growing up in a multicultural area playing teams with members of a different culture means a lot to us, we know the seriousness and the importance of kicking racism out of football.
“A tournament such as the one we are holding brings communities together as they are all playing against each other and having an enjoyable day.”
