Sodje brothers at Houses of Parliament
The Sodje Sports Foundation (SSF) is playing host to an educational seminar, in conjunction with Focus Learning Support, at the Houses of Parliament tomorrow (15 March).
The seminar, which explores how foreign students, specifically those from Africa and Nigeria, view the English educational system, is drawing together leaders from politics, education and business.
The Foundation, set up by the famous Nigerian footballing family from the Warri Delta State, will be talking about the role sport can play in directing students back into schooling.
Steve Sodje, founder of the SSF, will be facilitating the session. He said: “This seminar is a chance for students to see the value in gaining an education in England, and how they can use it to their advantage upon returning to Nigeria.
“Our family has made a good living out of sport, and we realise how powerful a medium it can be in keeping people in the educational system. We will be placing a particular emphasis on this, and hope to make the students aware of the different opportunities available to them.”
