“Race for Football Roadshows” set for launch
Kick It Out will be joining a debate on issues surrounding grassroots football at the African Caribbean Centre in Leicester tonight (20 March).
The event forms part of the ‘Race for Sport’ campaign, a partnership between the Society of Black Lawyers, Leicester Nirvana FC, the Black and Asian Coaches Association and the Voice Newspaper, and its latest series of ‘Race for Football Roadshows’.
Taking place from 6–9pm, the roadshow will address all aspects of racism and inequality in football. There will be a specific focus on solutions to these problems and how to improve engagement with football clubs, the professional bodies, managers, coaches, players, referees and the media.
The ‘Race for Football Roadshows’ will also appear in Birmingham and Reading before the end of the season. It will culminate in an international conference to be held at the Institute of Education in London on September 25.
