Player in Iceland racially abused by fan
An Icelandic Premier League match between Keflavík and ÍBV was soured when a supposed Keflavík supporter shouted “Kick the n***** off the field”.
The match had to be stopped when Tonny Mawejje (ÍBV) tackled Arnór Ingvi Traustason (Keflavík).
The referee let the game continue, as Keflavík was attacking at the time, but stopped it soon after so the player (Arnór) could be attended to.
Many Keflavík supporters became angry when Mawejje did not receive a red card for his foul and shouted at the referee.
One supporter seems to have gone overboard when he screamed something like “reka negrann útaf” which roughly translates to “kick the n***** off the field”.
Obviously a very racist comment in any language.
