Pioneering managerial appointment for Boston United
Boston United have appointed Jason Lee and Lee Canoville, two of non-league’s promising young black managers, on a permanent basis.
Having been in caretaker charge since March, the joint-managers led the Pilgrims to the Blue Square Bet North play-offs.
Lee said he and Canoville were delighted to have been appointed as the permanent successors to Rob Scott and Paul Hurst.
“At non-league level it’s one of the better clubs,” he commented. “I’ve worked with and known people at the club for a number of years. We played here when Boston were in the league and it’s been a long road for the club to come back.
“Everyone behind the scenes has done fantastically well to get the club where they are now. It’s good to see they’ve remained loyal and their hard work has paid off. It’s down to me and Lee now to play our part.”
