Philosophy Football hosting eve-of-season event
Philosophy Football, in association with the PCS Trade Union and When Saturday Comes, is hosting an eve-of-season celebration at the New Red Lion in Islington on Friday 5 August.
The evening opens with a discussion on ‘Football, Finances and Own Goals’. Special guest Andrew Jennings, an investigative reporter, will be joining Kris Stewart, one of the founders of AFC Wimbledon, John Williams, co-author of ‘The Football Nation’, and Guardian economics writer, Aditya Chakrobortty, on the panel.
Following on from the debate, Attila the Stockbroker, a football poet, Rhoda Dakar, former lead singer of the Bodysnatchers, and Mark Steel, a socialist columnist, author and comedian, will all perform.
