PFA statement regarding two high-profile incidents of alleged racist abuse
The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) has released a statement regarding two recent high-profile incidents of alleged racist abuse.
“We have had some serious issues arise recently between players regarding allegations of racist abuse. The PFA is and always will be committed to anti-racism initiatives which have achieved considerable success in the past few decades seeking to eradicate this problem. There is no place for such behaviour and there is and has to be support for those who feel they have encountered racial abuse.
“There is a proper process to be followed for such serious issues which is governed by The Football Association, as the game’s regulator. We will assist and adhere to that process in any way which is considered appropriate, mindful that all the players are our members and as such we expect the process to be fair and transparent in establishing the facts in each case.”
