Paul Williams announced in England set-up
The Football Association (FA) has announced Paul Williams as one of four interim national coaches to support England’s development teams. Paul is one member of an experienced quartet of Keith Downing, Mike Marsh and Eric Steele who will assist the coaching structure for the foreseeable future.
Williams will assist with the Under-15s and Under-16s squad. A former England Under-21s international, he started his playing career at Derby County before going on the represent Lincoln City (loan), Coventry City, Southampton, Stoke City and Richmond Kickers in the USA.
Williams started coaching in America before returning to England for stints on the backroom staff at Aldershot Town and Eastleigh. The former centre-half then spent three years as youth development coach at Southampton and currently works for Brentford.
