Nominations open for #No2H8 Crime Awards
Nominations for the 2017 #No2H8 Crime Awards are open, with this year’s theme focusing on ‘Upstanders and Not Bystanders’.
The awards are organised by coalition of partners in the National No2H8 Crime Awards 2017 which include Tell MAMA, the Community Security Trust, GALOP, Stonewall and the ‘No to Hate Crime’ campaign.
#No2H8 will recognise individuals within communities that diligently and tirelessly work towards supporting the cohesion of communities and thereby support the stability and safety of our country.
There are a number of categories open for nominations including the Young Upstander Award, Media Upstander Award and The Jo Cox Award, presenter for campaigners who have fearlessly stood against prejudice and hatred.
This year’s theme is entitled ‘Upstanders and Not Bystanders‘ and reflects on the need to challenge hatred, intolerance and bigotry safely and with added vigour given the sharp rises in hate incidents and crimes.
More than this, the finalists ensure the dignity of all individuals are protected by maintaining the premise that everyone in our country should be able to live their lives free from fear.
The deadline for nominations is Sunday 10 September. To send in your nomination, please click here.
