Matt Lawson joins backroom staff at Notts County Ladies FC
Nutritionist Matt Lawson, a long-standing supporter of Kick It Out, has been added to the backroom staff at Women’s Super League side Notts County Ladies.
Matt, who currently works at Notts County as the club’s community officer and first team nutritionist, has previous experience in the women’s game having coached at Bingham Town Ladies, Arnold Town Ladies and within the Ladies Development set-up at Meadow Lane.
“I spoke to the Notts County Ladies manager Rick Passmoor last year in preparation for the upcoming season and everyone is very excited,” said Matt, who supported the nutritional and dietary needs of a Team GB Paralympian during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
“Diet and nutrition tends to be very high on the list of priorities for female athletes. We will support that with contact time available for players if they want some one on one dietary support.
“Ladies football is massive in Nottingham. I have been involved in the ‘Women in Sport’ campaign and there is more interest now in elite, community and grassroots female sport than ever before. Notts County Ladies will do a huge amount for the development of women’s football.”
