Manchester United head Season of Action fixtures this weekend
Two ‘Season of Action’ fixtures will take place tomorrow (26 October) as Manchester United and Exeter City commemorate 20 years of Kick It Out.
Manchester United will face Stoke at Old Trafford as they look to climb up the table.
The Manchester Untied Foundation has been actively promoting Kick It Out’s key inclusion and equality messages within the club.
One of the players, Red Devils and Spain Under21s goalkeeper David De Gea, took time out of his busy training schedule to meet the star of Manchester United’s deaf team Akeel Tahir.
Akeel was thrilled to meet the young Spaniard, who has been named as the club’s ambassador for Kick It Out for the 2013/2014 campaign.
“There is no place for discrimination of any kind, not on a football pitch and not in our daily lives,” said De Gea. “Football brings people together, there should be no divisions and we need to educate those who do not see it that way.”
Exeter City also will be promoting one of the key facets of Kick It Out – women in football. Numerous female football teams have been invited to watch Exeter take on Burton Albion.
Devon County FA will also be on hand to provide information to women, of all ages, on how to break into the football industry.
The club’s under 11, under 13 and under 15 girls teams will join the teams before the match.
