Lincoln City support Stand Up Speak Up project
Lincoln City management staff and players promoted the club’s Stand Up Speak Up (SUSU) project prior to their pre-season friendly fixture with Gainsborough Trinity on 28 July.
Manager David Holdsworth and his players wore t-shirts to show their support for SUSU, one of the club’s fastest growing flagship programmes, prior to the match, and met local youngsters who have played a leading role in taking the project into schools.
SUSU has been widely recognised throughout Lincoln as being a driving force in celebrating the diverse cultures which the city now embraces, and the Lincoln City Sport and Education Trust has recently secured local government funding to extend the project for a further two years.
Through SUSU, 20 children who attend the project’s free Saturday club were applied with complimentary tickets for the 1-1 draw with Gainsborough, and given a stadium tour to see how the club operates on match days.
