Kick It Out's reporting app nominated for Football Business Award
Kick It Out is delighted to announce that the organisation has been nominated for a Football Business Award in the category of ‘Best/Most Innovative Use of Technology (non-club specific)’.
The Football Business Awards recognise and reward the hard work that takes place to support the success of the game. This year’s ceremony is the fifth annual event and will be at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday 3 November.
Kick It Out has been nominated thanks to the success of its reporting app, which allows users to confidentially report incidents they may witness or suffer at a football match.
The app has been available for download on iOS or Android since July 2013, whilst the second version – which provides users with the ability to attach photo, audio and video evidence to support their complaints – was released in the summer of 2015.
Kick It Out recently released statistics for the 2015/16 season which revealed that 22% of the discrimination reports received by the organisation at both the grassroots and professional levels of the game were made via the app.
Kick It Out has also seen an 11% increase in the usage of its app to report incidents of discrimination at a grassroots level in comparison to the season before, demonstrating the increasing importance of the product in tackling discriminatory incidents.
Roisin Wood, Kick It Out’s Director, welcomed the nomination and praised the development of the app as an important step forward in Kick It Out’s reporting procedures.
She said: “It’s wonderful to see recognition from the Football Business Awards for all the hard work that went into creating the app, by both our team as well as Salesforce and makepositive, our developers.
“The app is a vital tool for people to report any discrimination they witness or suffer at a football game – we encourage everyone to download it and help us create a more inclusive environment for all within the game.”
You can download the app from the Apple Store or Google Play.
