Kick It Out statement on new plans from The FA
Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion organisation, has today (9 January) released the following statement after the announcement from The Football Association (FA) for a new series of initiatives and investments that will impact the whole of English football.
The statement reads: “Kick It Out welcomes the proposals put forward today by The Football Association (FA).
“The organisation will be looking to work closely with English football’s governing body to ensure the successful implementation and monitoring of its aims with regards to achieving equality, inclusion and cohesion.
“In November 2017, Kick It Out set out its own comprehensive proposals in the ‘Football in pursuit of Equality, Inclusion and Cohesion’ review report, which were accepted by the sport’s authorities including The FA, Premier League, English Football League and the Professional Footballers’ Association.”
Lord Ouseley, Chair of Kick It Out, commented on the new FA proposals: “This is a watershed moment.
“I looked to The Football Association to give leadership on the matter of equality, inclusion and cohesion and I now expect those in positions of power across professional football, along with The FA, to drive forward the highest standards of activity in order to achieve these objectives which will benefit everyone who participates in the game.
“We look forward to working with The FA and the other authorities to bring about the changes necessary to make the game inclusive for all.”
