Kick It Out statement on CST figures showing rise in antisemitic incidents
Following the publication of Community Security Trust’s (CST) figures showing a 30% rise in antisemitic incidents, Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion organisation, has issued a statement.
Lord Herman Ouseley, Kick It Out Chair, said: “We note with concern CST’s reporting figures, confirming our own understanding of the increase and impact of hate and prejudice in this country.
“Kick It Out will shortly be publishing its own reporting statistics for football-related discrimination incidents during 2016/17. The organisation is concerned at antisemitic abuse within the game and this, alongside all forms of discrimination, needs addressing by football.
“Only with the collective effort and impetus of ALL, including football authorities and other agencies in society, particularly government and local authorities alongside voluntary organisations, will this situation improve.”
