Kick It Out statement after Nicolas Anelka denies FA charge
Kick It Out has released the following statement after West Bromwich Albion striker Nicolas Anelka denied The Football Association’s charge in relation to a gesture made during their match against West Ham United at Upton Park on Saturday 28 December and requested a personal hearing:
“Kick It Out notes that West Bromwich Albion striker Nicolas Anelka has exercised his right to contest the charge brought against him by The Football Association (FA) for a gesture made during their match against West Ham United at Upton Park on Saturday 28 December.
“The FA has a clear process in place with which such charges must be properly and carefully considered. Kick It Out awaits the outcome of Anelka’s hearing with The FA’s independent regulatory commission before making any further comment. The campaign hopes this matter is brought to a swift conclusion.”
