Kick It Out partners with Streets Revolution
Kick It Out is pleased to announce a new partnership with Streets Revolution CIC, to help promote messages of equality and inclusion within local communities.
The partnership will see the social enterprise group work closely with the organisation’s Education Programme to develop inclusive activities and initiatives across Streets Revolution CIC areas of work in Oxford and Bournemouth.
As part of the new partnership, Kick It Out will be in attendance at a Streets Revolution CIC event which will mark World Homeless Day and World Mental Health Day.
In conjunction with Oxfordshire FA, the social enterprise will host a six-a-side football tournament on Monday 10 October at Oxford City FC. Teams from all sections of the community will be asked to come together to raise awareness and show unity. By entering a team, organisations will be promoting the work they do as well as make the event a positive experience for participants.
The competition’s message is ‘More than Words’, as Jon Regler, Chairman of Streets Revolution CIC, explains: “The purpose of Streets Revolution is to give people something to associate themselves with, something to label themselves with that isn’t homelessness or mental health or any of the other negatives in their lives.
“Everyone who comes along has been harmed or marginalised by words in some way – whether through labels that society has decided to put on them or simply because of a lack positive, affirmative words in their lives.”
“We are excited that Kick It Out can support the Oxford Social Inclusion Cup as it showcases how football has the power to unite.
“It is really important that work like this is celebrated and highlighted and we hope that by doing this we can encourage other communities to come together in a similar way through football and break down barriers in our society.”
