Kick It Out joins forces with Essex CFA and Chelmsford College
Kick It Out will unite Essex County FA (CFA) and Chelmsford College on 25 April to raise awareness of the issue of discrimination in football.
The event, which will be hosted by Chelmsford College, is part of Essex CFA’s plan to achieve the Preliminary Level of the Equality Standard. Dean Watson, Kick It Out’s Grassroots Development Officer, will deliver a presentation on the impact and effects of discrimination at all levels of the game.
Other activities on the day include an ‘Introduction to Futsal’ delivered by Essex CFA,from the college and an exhibition stand on grassroots football with information specifically focusing on tackling discrimination.
Richard Moss, Student Engagement Coordinator at Chelmsford College, said: “I am delighted that we are hosting this event.”
“As an institute, we are drawing students from more socially diverse settings so any initiative which can stimulate dialogue and understanding between cultures we should place the upmost importance on.
“Sport should be something that draws young people together in a spirit of mutual understanding and friendly competition.”
