Kick It Out director to speak at Southampton Solent University one-day conference
Roisin Wood, Director of Kick It Out, will be one of the keynote speakers at Southampton Solent Univeristy’s one day conference on ‘Inclusive Leisure’ on Wednesday 20 May.
The conference being hosted by the university, in conjunction with Lawrie McMenemy Centre for Football Research and Leisure Studies Association, will see scholars, educators and industry professional discuss and present thoughts on how football can be used as a platform for inclusion.
There will also be the opportunity for attendees to go on a stadium tour of Southampton FC’s St.Mary’s Stadium. The tour of the Premier League club’s ground will also include a dinner which will be held in the Markus Liebherr Lounge.
Attendees will be invited to submit potential papers, workshops and presentations before the event on fandom and spectatorship, digital football culture, football development and football beyond leisure. Deadline for submissions is on Friday 27 February.
Registration for the conference is open, with the deadline for booking onto the conference dinner at Southampton FC on Friday 8 May.
