Kick It Out Director joins FSF National Council
Roisin Wood, Kick It Out Director, has been appointed on to the Football Supporters Federation’s (FSF) National Council.
The National Council is part of the FSF’s structure and oversees the organisation’s campaigns and policies, with Roisin becoming a member of the council with immediate effect.
The FSF is the biggest supporters’ organisation in England and Wales, with over a million members associated across all 92 Premier League and Football League clubs.
Kick It Out and the FSF jointly launched the ‘Fans for Diversity’ campaign in March 2014 to help target a number of fan initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion across the professional and non-league game.
Speaking about her appointment, Roisin stated the importance of creating stronger connections between Kick It Out and supporters.
“I am delighted to be elected on to the FSF’s National Council,” said Roisin. “With Kick It Out’s ‘Season of Action’ focusing on grassroots and community, it is essential that we build a closer relationship with football supporters who help shape the beautiful game.
“The National Council provides the opportunity for Kick It Out to raise awareness of our work in achieving equality for all supporters that want to attend matches and enjoy football in a safe and welcoming environment.”
The FSF alongside Supporters Direct held its Supporters Summit at Wembley Stadium on Saturday (26 July), with Kick It Out in attendance exhibiting a stall at the event.
