Justin Campaign and Devon Lions join forces at Exeter Pride
The Justin Campaign shared a market stall with Devon Lions, the county’s only gay-friendly football team, to raise awareness around homophobia in the game at Exeter Pride.
Alan Quick, The Justin Campaign’s South West Co-Ordinator, and chairman, Exeter Pride, said: “More than 1,500 people took part in our Rainbow flag parade through Exeter High Street and more than 2,000 people visited the stalls and took part in the rest of the day’s activities held at Exeter Phoenix.
“Members of the Devon Lions football team gave away hundreds of leaflets and merchandise from The Justin Campaign, Kick It Out and to publicise their own club to those who visited the stall. They also ran a Guess the Number of Sweets in a Jar competition.
“Exeter Pride, one of the first in the country, was a huge success and is one of the largest Pride events in the South West of England.”
