George Borg suspended from all football activity
Burnham Ramblers coach George Borg has been suspended by The FA from all football and football related activity until such time as the club has completed five first team matches in approved competitions after he was found guilty of aggravated misconduct.
This suspension, however, is stayed until Mr Borg has received the written reasons for this decision and his period to appeal has expired.
Mr Borg, who was the manager of Enfield Town when the incident occurred on 25 August 2014, was alleged to have used abusive and/or indecent and/or insulting words towards Wingate and Finchley FC supporters, contrary to Rule E3(1).
It was further alleged that this breach of Rule E3(1) was an “Aggravated Breach” as defined in Rule E3(2), as it included a reference to ethnic origin, and/or race, and/or religion or belief.
Mr Borg denied the charge and requested a personal hearing at which the Independent Regulatory Commission found the charge proven.
In addition, Mr Borg was fined £275 and ordered to complete an education programme.
