FSF/SD Supporters Summit 2015 with BT Sport's Supporters Club
This year’s Supporters Summit, jointly hosted by national fan organisations the Football Supporters’ Federation and Supporters Direct, will take place in Manchester on Saturday 18th July 2015 (10am start).
The event attracts fans from across Britain who will debate football’s big issues and seek to influence the game for the better. Last year’s event covered ownership issues, Financial Fair Play, kicking racism out of football, ticket prices, away allocations, and more. The event is being supported by BT Sport and The Supporters Club, the broadcaster’s initiative that aims to use sport to improve the lives of disadvantaged youngsters.
Other highlights from last year’s Summit included a speech from FA Chairman Greg Dyke, who shared his thoughts on the FA’s England Commission and asked whether the FA is fully representative in the modern age?
FSF Chief Executive Kevin Miles said:
“This is a great opportunity to get involved and express fan power. On the back of a huge top-flight media deal, we want to see ticket prices brought down and wealth spread throughout lower league and grassroots football. Come along, have your say, and make a difference.”
SD Chief Executive Robin Osterley said:
“Last year was an incredible success, and we look forward to making sure that this year’s Supporters Summit brings together a collection of fans who are interested in shaping the game for the future. This year’s event will have even more opportunities for fans to network, share best practice and gain insight on how to further their supporters trust and engage with local communities.”
2015’s Summit will be sponsored by BT Sport which has played a significant role in allowing the Supporters Summit to be free for all fans. Tickets are subject to availability so make sure you book early.
The FSF’s AGM will take place on Sunday 19th July at 11am.
