Friends of Africa v Friends of the Caribbean charity match
The worlds of football and entertainment meet when AFCAR The Game and Family Fun day takes place at Brentford FC’s Griffin Park ground on Bank Holiday Monday May 27.
On what should be a family fun day that all will remember, the Sodje Sports Foundation and their counterparts at the Jason Roberts Foundation are hosting a charity football match that will stir the emotions of the Africa-Caribbean community.
This charity football match, endorsed by the Professional Footballers’ Association, and sponsored by Lycamobile, alongside the support of Hilton Hotel, Barclays Bank and Arik Air will see a Friends of Africa XI (captained by Efe Sodje) take on a Friends of the Caribbean XI (captained by Jason Roberts).
This is the first time ever a collaborative event focuses largely on a celebration of cultures and sport. This will be a fun day out for all the family while raising well-needed cash for charities such as the Damilola Taylor Trust and African-Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT) – promoting bone marrow and blood donation.
Confirmed players and celebrities involved in AFCAR The Game press conference include the following:
