Free Holocaust Memorial Day 2013 workshops
The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust will be holding free workshops across the UK between September and October for those interested in marking Holocaust Memorial Day 2013.
Holocaust Memorial Day 2013, which takes place on 27 January, is the UK’s annual day for commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, Nazi Persecution and subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
Many representatives of TUC member organisations have demonstrated a strong commitment to marking Holocaust Memorial Day in recent years and the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust welcomes any members who wish to attend.
The workshops will explore ‘Communities Together: Build a Bridge’, the theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2013, and the practicalities of how you can organise activities and events around this.
There will be the opportunity to hear and watch stories from the past and present that highlight the importance of bringing communities together, participate in interactive activities and hear tips from organisers who have been involved in Holocaust Memorial Day for the last decade.
The workshops are two-and-a-half hours long, with dates and locations listed here:
Cambridge – 13 September
Southampton – 19 September
Exeter – 20 September
Wolverhampton – 24 September
Cardiff – 27 September
Belfast – 4 October
Derby – 10 October
London – 11 October
Sunderland – 15 October
