Free event next month to examine inequality and racism
A free event will examine inequality and racism in sport on 25 and 26 September at West Ham United’s Stadium, Upton Park, east London.
The campaign group, Race for Sport, will host two conferences named ‘Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere’ featuring speakers from both the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
The events will aim to examine all aspects of racism and inequality in sport over a two day period, with a key focus on the best practices displayed by the powers that be in sport in the U.S in tackling inequality and racism in sport.
One of the seminars will draw upon the success of the National Football League Players Association, the National Bar Association and the Congressional Black Caucus in America.
Speakers for the two days include Jason Roberts, Joe Briggs, NFL Players Association, and, former Jamaican international Michael Johnson.
There will be a range of panel discussions, seminars and workshops throughout the day focusing on different equality strands and discrimination issues.
