Five clubs host Season of Action games this weekend
Leicester City, Preston North End, Coventry City, Fleetwood Town and Plymouth Argyle will all show their support for Kick It Out during its 20th anniversary by hosting ‘Season of Action’ fixtures this weekend.
All four teams have dedicated their first match in March to promoting football’s equality and inclusion campaign.
Championship side Leicester entertain Charlton Athletic at King Power Stadium with the Foxes recognising the campaign alongside Show Racism The Red Card (SRTRC).
Children from both clubs will participate before the game as they provide player escorts in the pre-match build up. There will also be a mixed zone for families of Leicester and Charlton supporters to interact before the match.
In League One, Preston welcome fellow promotion chasers Walsall to Deepdale on Saturday. The players from the two teams will be donning Kick It Out t-shirts in honour of the selected game along with the match officials.
Also in the third tier, Coventry face Shrewsbury Town with ‘Next 20’ ambassador Callum Wilson set to feature for the Sky Blues.
A brace of fixtures in League Two sees Fleetwood and Plymouth hold ‘Season of Action’ matches in the fourth tier.
The Cod Army play AFC Wimbledon at Highbury Stadium. A special citizenship session on racism and anti-bullying will be held prior to the game for youngsters in the area whilst there will be tannoy announcements as the Lancashire club promote the campaign and its work throughout the day.
Finally Plymouth Argyle host Morecambe as the Pilgrims look for further points to boost their play-off hopes at Home Park.
