Fans For Diversity set to support Port Vale fans' forum on Thursday 8 March
Fans For Diversity are set to support a Port Vale fans’ forum at Vale Park on Thursday 8 March for an evening of discussion on improving engagement with the diverse local community.
The Fans For Diversity campaign is an initiative run in partnership by Kick It Out and the Football Supporters Federation which helps to organise and fund supporter-led activity around diversity in football.
Anwar Uddin, lead on the Fans For Diversity campaign, will be in attendance on the night alongside Neil Aspin, Port Vale first-team manager and John Rudge, football advisor at the club, as well Mark Porter, Chair of the Supporters’ Club.
The evening will begin with a brief presentation from Anwar about the work of Fans For Diversity before discussion opens up to the audience, and there will be a free buffet available for everyone in attendance.
Anwar commended Port Vale for their initiative in setting up the event and was delighted to be able to offer support through Fans For Diversity.
He said: “It’s vital for football clubs to engage with all parts of their local community, including existing fans, and it’s brilliant to see that Port Vale are taking steps to ensure their club is inclusive as possible. Fans For Diversity is all about encouraging greater diversity amongst supporters and we hope next Thursday will be a huge boost to those efforts at Port Vale.”
