Fans For Diversity FC returns for Charlton V Homophobia tournament
Fans For Diversity FC, the team behind the campaign run by Kick It Out and the Football Supporters’ Federation, will once again feature in the annual Charlton v Homophobia tournament taking place at The Valley on Tuesday 22 May.
The annual tournament, which has run for the past three years, celebrates Charlton Athletic and Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s (CACT) commitment to raising the profile of LGBT+ awareness in football and across the local community.
The four team tournament will feature teams from Proud Valiants and CACT Invicta alongside Fans For Diversity. Proud Valiants are the official Charlton Athletic supporters’ groups for LGBTQI+ fans, whilst CACT Invicta are the first ever dedicated LGBT-friendly football team to be affiliated with a professional football club trust.
Fans For Diversity also participated in last year’s tournament which saw the University of Greenwich taking home the trophy as tournament winners.
The Fans For Diversity team is currently looking for players to join the team on 22 May. If you are interested, please email Anwar Uddin, Fans For Diversity Campaign Manager, at email@example.com
