Fan appears in court for allegedly racially abusing player
A football fan has appeared in court accused of racially abusing Hibernian player Isaiah Osbourne.
Ryan Melville Cameron, 20, is alleged to have abused Osbourne on Saturday (17 September), when the Edinburgh side played Dunfermline Athletic at East End Park in Fife.
He appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court charged with a racially aggravated breach of the peace.
Mr Cameron pleaded not guilty to the charge and a trial date was set for December 19 this year. He will next appear at court on November 24, for an intermediate hearing.
Mr Cameron has been banned from the ground in the meantime, and if convicted, the club said it will consider further action – including a lifetime ban.
