FA hands Northwich Victoria boss Lee Ashcroft a 10-match ban
Northwich Victoria boss Lee Ashcroft has been banned for 10 matches for abusing a female opposition coach.
An independent Football Association commission found Ashcroft guilty of using abusive and/or insulting words in the game against Gresley in January.
It was further alleged that the words used were in relation to her gender.
Earlier this month, The FA introduced stronger sanctions to deal with cases of discrimination. Ashcroft has said he will appeal against the ruling.
The 40-year-old, who had spells with Preston North End, West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic as a player, initially denied the charge.
He has been manager of the Northern Premier League Division One South side since November.
