Exeter City's Football in the Community host fourth futsal tournament
It was a thrilling final for Exeter United who were the winners of Exeter City’s One Game One Community’s fourth futsal tournament held at the University of Exeter Sports Centre on Sunday 23 April.
Exeter United beat T P Mazembe, the team named after the Congalese football club based in Lubumbashi, 2-0.
The semi-finalists who did not make it to the final but were praised for doing well were Chorizo United who lost 2-1 to Exeter United and A C Heavitree, who lost 4-2 to T P Mazembe.
The tournament was organised by Exeter City Football in the Community and was supported by the University of Exeter, Devon FA, the Exeter City Supporters Trust and its One Game One Community Group.
Entries were particularly sought from local BAME players, with teams taking part from across Exeter and Devon alongside a Devon and Cornwall Police team.
The Exeter City One Game One Community Group is a supporter of Kick It Out and its mission to address all types of discrimination in football including age, disability, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation.
The annual outdoor summer community five-a-side tournament, for both female and male teams, will be held in July.
