Everton to host job fair for disabled people
Everton Football Club will be hosting a specialist job fair on Thursday 20 July, to help adults living with disabilities or health conditions get into work.
The announcement, which comes as part of the Club’s support for this year’s Learning Disability Awareness Week, creates a fantastic opportunity for people across the city to network with local employers and connect with others from a similar background.
Everton, along with several local employers, will be in The People’s Club lounge at Goodison Park between 1-4pm – giving attendees the chance to find out about vacancies, job opportunities and support available.
The Club is proud to be a Disability Confident employer, meaning that it is committed to actively employing, retaining and supporting disabled people.
Michelle Kirk, Equality and Disability People Partner at Everton, said: “Being Disability confident means we’re committed to breaking down the barriers which for too long have held people back and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
“As ‘The People’s Club’, we pride ourselves on our accessible and inclusive employment practices and we’re looking forward to extending this with local businesses.
“We hope attendees will benefit from speaking to employers and feel confident that they will promote the best people for the job, irrespective of the disabilities applicants face.”
The job fair has been arranged in partnership with JCP and entry is invite only. For further details of how to get involved, please contact your work coach at your local job center for further details.
