Proud Lilywhites to attend European Fans Football Congress in Belfast
The European Fans Football Congress (EFFC) run by Football Supporters Europe, will take place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, between 2-5 July with #Prideinfootball members, Proud Lilywhites, in attendance.
The congress is open to supporters from all clubs, whether they are part of fan initiatives or representatives, national fans organisations or individuals.
Hosted by the Amalgamation of Northern Ireland Supporters Clubs and the Irish Football Association, the congress will be open to all who attend with all venues accessible for disabled fans.
Proud Lilywhites, Tottenham Hotspur’s official LGBT fan group, will be in attendance during the congress next month with Darryl Telles, a founding member of the fan group, hosting a workshop on homophobia in football at the event.
Speaking ahead of the event, Darryl is pleased that the Proud Lilywhites are involved in the congress: “As a founding member of the Proud Lilywhites, I’m delighted to be facilitating this session on homophobia in football.
“It’s great that Football Supporters Europe have decided to make this and the wider issue of discrimination central to the Fans Congress in Belfast.”
The aim of the three-day event is to gather supporters from across a wide spectrum of backgrounds to discuss the issues surrounding fans in and open and honest environment.
