Eastenders stars help raise funds for charity

Eastenders stars were among the celebrities raising money for the Anthony Nolan Trust at the recent Football All Star Tournament (FAST).

Nitin Ganatra (Masood Ahmed), Thomas Law (Peter Beale) and Himesh Patel (Tamwar Masood) attended the event, which celebrated its second year running at the Broadfields Country Club on Saturday 31st July.

Over £2,000 was raised for the charity as some of the UK’s leading Asian media titles and celebrities battled it out on the football pitch.

Louise Wright from the Anthony Nolan Trust said: “We constantly need people to sign up and join the donor register, especially young males and black and minority ethnic groups. The much needed funds raised at FAST will help us continue our efforts to save the lives of leukaemia sufferers.”

Events company, Zen Events, were crowned winners of the tournament, whilst Channel 4’s The Grewal Family finished runners up.

There was also a celebrity ‘Beat the Goalie’ competition, which saw urban artist Shizzio in goal against the Eastenders and Grewal Family stars.
