East Riding FA sign-up to Charter
The East Riding FA this week became the first County FA to commit its support to The FA’s Action Plan for Inclusion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGB&T) people in Sport by signing the Government’s Charter for Action.
The Charter is comprised of four principles and aims to make sport a welcoming environment for LGB&T people and to help stamp out homophobia and transphobia in sport.
Adam Lowthorpe, Chief Executive of the East Riding FA, said: “By signing the Charter, East Riding FA joins The FA, Premier League, Football League, LMA, PFA, the 92 professional Clubs and The FA Council in pledging its support of ‘Football for Everyone’.”
Governing Bodies of sport, such as the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the Rugby Football League (RFL), the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympics Games (LOCOG) have also agreed to the four principles of the Charter.
