Diversity and community cohesion recognised as Luton welcomes Liverpool legends
A number of Liverpool’s European Cup winning legends will be in attendance at Luton’s Crescent Hall tonight (30 September) for an evening that will celebrate diversity and community cohesion as well as their exploits.
Phil Neal, Terry McDermott and Jimmy Case will join the event which has been put together by Abu Nasir, a member of Kick It Out’s Grassroots Guidance Group, and is supported by local businesses, Bedfordshire Police and voluntary groups.
Liverpool fans will get the opportunity for a meet and greet and autograph signing sessions with the former players as well as view the European Cup trophy which will be on show.
The three players, who have won over 60 major honours between them, will discuss their careers at Anfield including some of the behind the scenes events during the major European Cup wins. The evening will raise funds for Keech Hospice in Luton, which cares for children and adults with life limiting and terminal illnesses.
As well as an amazing atmosphere, a wide range of signed sporting memorabilia will be available on the night and opportunities to win prizes.
Abu, who is also CEO of GSV Sports Management, the company organising Liverpool legends evening, said, “This event is part of our Liverpool European Legends Tour which brings fans and communities together through football”.
“Luton is one of the most diverse communities in the country and has a cult following for Liverpool FC and we are proud to bring some of the footballing greats to our home town, particularly for a good cause”.
