Complaint made after Norwich City v Birmingham City match
Norwich City have released a statement after a complaint of alleged homophobic abuse at the club’s match against Birmingham City at Carrow Road on Saturday (20 September).
The statement reads: “Norwich City can confirm we are investigating an allegation of homophobic abuse by a home supporter at half-time during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Birmingham City at Carrow Road.
“Another City fan has made a complaint to Kick It Out and the Club using our Safeguarding reporting hotline, set up to enable fans to report any incidents of discriminatory, abusive or otherwise unacceptable behaviour they witness during matches.
“Norfolk Police are also looking into the matter.
“Fans are reminded the Club has a zero-tolerance stance on all forms of discrimination and anyone found guilty of discrimination will be banned from Carrow Road.
