Bristol to unite with Kick It Out for community football day
Kick It Out is joining forces with a range of partners from the Bristol region to run a community football day in April.
The event will take place at The City Academy Bristol, Russell Town Avenue, Redfield, Bristol, BS5 9JH, between 9:30am and 4pm on Friday 8 April.
Alongside Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion organisation, Bristol City Community Trust, Gloucestershire FA and Bristol City Council will come together for a day’s football activities aimed at young people aged between eight and 18.
The event looks to raise football participation levels in Bristol and provide opportunities and advice on coaching and refereeing pathways for the older age-groups.
The morning session, focused at 8-11 year-olds, starts with registration at 9:30am, before a two-hour junior football morning from 10am, split into age-groups with rotating games.
This will be alongside sessions delivered by FA Skills Coaches and staff from Bristol City’s Community Trust, as well as a Kick It Out education workshop and small-sided futsal matches.
Following a lunch break, the two-hour afternoon session from 2pm caters for 12-18 year-old, with registration opening at 1:30pm.
Groups will be split for age-groups participating in games, again alongside a host of activities including small-sided matches, an introduction to coaching, a Kick It Out education workshop and a media workshop.
