Arsenal star Santi Cazorla announced as patron of Football Beyond Borders
Arsenal and Spain midfielder Santi Cazorla has been announced as a patron of London-based youth charity Football Beyond Borders (FBB).
Cazorla has agreed to support FBB, which delivers a combination of football training sessions and education programmes to support young people in some of London’s most deprived estates and schools.
To celebrate Cazorla joining FBB as a patron, the charity will host a fundraising dinner with the Arsenal star and fellow patron Guillem Balague on 9 April at the Cafe Football restaurant in London.
In its five year history, the charity has worked in 12 countries and delivered projects which have used football to bring hundreds of people from more than 30 nationalities together.
Balague spoke about his fellow Spaniard joining FBB: “I am delighted that Santi has agreed to join the team. His journey towards football stardom is an inspiration to our young people and a clear example of the merits of hard work and commitment. He is already looking forward to getting involved in the charity’s hugely worthwhile projects.”
Café Football will also be partnering with the charity in a long term partnership agreement. Liz Reece, General Manager of Cafe Football, said: “Café Football London is thrilled to be working with Football Beyond Borders, not only in hosting their dinner but as an ongoing partnership.
“We understand and believe in everything they aim to achieve and want to play an integral role in their future development. This partnership symbolises not only our love for the game but our belief that everything the beautiful game inspires can actually lead to a change in the lives of the people who play it.”
Tickets for the dinner are available through table bookings of 4, 6 or 10 people; there are also a limited number of individual tickets available. All tickets will cost £50 per head (plus booking fee) and include a 3-course meal, canapés and a drink. To book tickets click here.
