Arsenal and Centrepoint announce Emirates Stadium fun run
Arsenal and Centrepoint have announced the launch of the third annual ‘Be a Gunner. Be a Runner.’ event.
The event, a 10-lap 6.4 kilometre fun run, will take place at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, March 19.
Registration for the fun-run around the outside of the stadium is now open to anyone aged 15 or over who would like to support Centrepoint.
To enter, simply log on to www.beagoonerbeagiver.org and sign up using the online application form.
All participants are asked to raise at least £100 in sponsorship in support of London’s largest youth homelessness charity and are asked to pay a registration fee of £15 upon signing up, which will go towards an individual’s personal fundraising total.
In return, runners will receive weekly newsletters featuring a host of useful training and fundraising advice, as well as a full event guide and more exclusive offers ahead of the event.
Any runner that manages to raise over £500 for Centrepoint will be deemed a ‘Top Gunner’ and will receive a personally signed certificate from an Arsenal first team player to celebrate their fundraising success.
Youngsters aged 14 and under are also being given the opportunity to take part in a special children’s race on the day. To enter, or for more information, simply log on towww.arsenal.com/juniorgunners.
Arsenal winger Theo Walcott, said: “Be a Gunner. Be a Runner’ promises to be a great event for all the family, so I’d encourage Arsenal fans young and old and anyone who fancies getting in shape in for the New Year to give the race a go!
“I’ve been lucky enough to see first-hand the amazing work that Centrepoint does with homeless young people, so by signing up for the fun run you are helping to make a real difference. I’m sure that with everyone’s support we can smash our fundraising target!”
