County FAs
Kick It Out works closely with County Football Associations (CFAs) across the country to ensure that discrimination at grassroots level is challenged and equal and inclusive practices are promoted.
CFAs provide support to grassroots clubs and community projects, and implement The FA’s national initiatives in their local area. One of the main roles of a CFA is to promote opportunities and schemes to help develop more women, ethnic minorities, LGB&T and disabled people in the game.
Inclusion Advisory Groups (IAG) have been introduced across all counties to discuss the ways of encouraging more participation amognst disadvantage communities.
These groups actively encourage members from the local community, to take up football, whether it’s in a playing, coaching or administrative capacity. They also have a specific responsibility for assisting in the set up and delivery of activities and projects that are carried out in relation to equality and diversity.
The introduction of The FA’s Inclusion and Anti-Discrimination plan will see further steps taken towards addressing under-representation in decision making at CFAs and in grassroots football.
If required, Kick It Out is able to act as a medium for grassroots clubs and community projects looking to contact their local county governing body.
