Equality and Diversity in Football Awareness Course
Kick It Out has collaborated with Southampton Solent University to offer the Equality and Diversity Awareness in Football Award.
This unique six-unit Award is aimed at professionally developing and educating the future leaders of football and increasing awareness of Kick It Out’s work within all sectors of the game. It is a well-suited course for anyone who currently works, or aspires to work, within the football industry.
This interactive, on-line course is designed to support and enhance the professional development of those who work, or aspire to work, in the football industry at all levels. This course is aimed at those who will lead the football industry towards greater equality and inclusion.
People who are a part of the Equality and Diversity Awareness in Football Award will gain:
• Further understanding of the workings of the football industry
• Enhanced leadership and communication skills
• Confidence and skills to challenge discrimination and promote best practice in football and society
• Opportunities to study and collaborate with like-minded individuals exploring similar career paths
• Enrolment as a student of Southampton Solent University for the duration of the course
• A certificate acknowledging successful completion of the course
The course is made up of six units, totalling eight to fifteen hours of on-line interaction, research and study at times that suit you over a 5 week period.
The course is led by staff members at Kick It Out and Southampton Solent University who will offer support on-line and by telephone.
These include ex-professional footballers and experts in issues of equality and diversity within the game.
To apply, you must meet the following requirements:
- You should be working or volunteering within the football industry, or studying full-time for a qualification related to work in football.
- You must be able to commit to completing 8 to 15 hours of work online across six to eight weeks between October and December.

The deadline for applications for the next round of the course is Sunday 16 September and it begins on Monday 15 October.
Participation in all elements of the course will result in the award of a certificate of completion jointly awarded by Kick It Out and Southampton Solent University.
